The crowning seal upon the hierarchy
the proud ram, sat on the seat of rule in arrogance
Pillars of flame spring up from the corners of the world
The manifestation of violent authority, destined to consume itself

The Maned Oracle
06:05
|
|||
Spring forth from the swarm of dimensions
past the grasp of the gold king’s seal
and breech the aether’s grace
the thorny vines that twine around the sacred shrine of the mind
are set aflame by his gaze
come with the teeth of the eastern wind
the path is paved
take your fill of the world’s prizes, offered as reward
Deliver your gift to man
to grace themselves with fur and claw
and deliver them from ignorance and obedience
The future calls for its many faults to hide, set in stone
until the pool of the past’s rewards has dried up, set in stone
Carried through the shrouded depths of lore and secrecy
bathed in the wells of hidden truths
Buried in a quick-lime grave at the hands of god-fearing men
For the virtues of wisdom are met with contempt
The future calls for its many faults to hide, set in stone
until the pool of the past’s rewards has dried up, set in stone

Jenny Greenteeth
05:35
|
|||
From the murky depths of a watery grave
a covetous finger pries from the weed
Adorned with the remnants of men
a crown of bones set on her brow
with siren’s allure
awash with the grace of gods
with bulbous eyes and jagged claws
Old Jenny knows many forms
and in our blindness plays us for fools
This is the season wherein the horses come out at night
to find travelers and lead them astray
under the pale moon, grey foals flitting across the fields
to take wanderers and carry them to the lake
They are entwined in hair from the faerie’s scalp
her numbing glare sends them adrift
Adorned with the remnants of men
a crown of bones set on her brow
Lured in by kelpies’ sweet melodies
chanting unscrutinized thoughts
And in a flash of insight I saw the world beyond the mounds
and there I danced for hours, while centuries passed
Through the merits of spae-sight
a glance at the world through her eyes
Nails in the water, under Thunor’s enforcing hand
robber of children, you are bound to the lake
harlot’s daughter and offspring of the stable thief
you will sink as I float
I see why mankind would believe those lips so green
for I’ve heard them utter forbidden dreams

Fear not the strong winds of death you breathe
Let them swell your sails to the ports of rebirth
Cloaked in threadbare garments of silk
To sow across the land
The Jack in the green
Immaculate
Retrieve your crown from the maws of hades
rise in spring with the wantonness of the sun
Cloaked in threadbare garments of silk, rise
Assume the idle throne
The fabled Jack in the green
fertility regained
Great monarch, raise the yield
your spirit will forever tend the fields
an offer to invoke the grains to nourish us
the body that’s been hewn asunder
Ascend, patron of the crops, transcend the mortal coil
where the blood of sacrifice shall cultivate the soil
Tried to alleviate the fear of a million men
he rests his head against the tree and breathes out life
the portents echo the vox dei
it calls
auto da fe
auto da fe
auto da fe
And the blight subsides
the rains come in
the sun will rise
when the blood is shed
and the God of the festival dies

Behind the guise of reason
the desert of the mind
the barrenness to inspiration
Now and again travellers do cross these lands
bearing the dew of morn on their feet
dampening the desert as they pass through it
The cracked soil splits, gives rise to roots
the flowering vines of illumination
A pledge is made to a deity that has forsaken them
accepting the drought as part of life
rejecting the fruitfulness that water brings
Progress is restrained by force
by visionaries witnessing the planetary course
With the tempest comes the fool
wrinkling the surface of the waters of the world
Razing foundations and raising them in their wake;
unbeknownst to him are the effects of his arrival
where now sprout vines in exuberance
he planted seeds of innocence and madness alike
Be silent, child, bred on barren soil, that you may grow to bear the cup
of law-forsaking splendour
and herald the fertile dream when the tempest has passed
Peaceful is the cosmic soul
adrift among the rubble of the arbitrary world
mocked by reason, spurned by rule
the trickling drops will settle in the footsteps of the fool

Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem
Solve, coagula! By vitriol shown,
The Tincture, the Elixir, and the Stone.
Trismegistus, lunar Thoth
Advocate the merge
In so splendourous motion trot
And balance on the verge
Bless with salt the wounds of strife
Rub sulphur on our hearts
Guide us to eternal life
Teach us the lost arts!
Mercury
Soft voiced visions of misery
Cloud my mind when I see seven shining seraphs
Wailing the symphony of immortality
Nigredo, into singular matter
Choke out every life
That Albedo purifies
And Citrinas will revive
Halted at the perimeter of the sensical life
As far as the shackles of humanity reach
a final intervention of the earthbound mind
Across the mystic bar
That is set for wrath and weeping
Against the children of earth.
But ye in singing and sleeping
Shall pass in measure and mirth!
Ouroboros behold;
The withering of the flesh
Pronounce the form of the soul
That manifests itself as a God!

Along Corpse Roads
07:16
|
|||
Eased out of finite, of finite form
denied the pantheon in the sky, haven of peace
Bright and incandescent the unconquered soul
Sent in with the spectral winds of time, bereft of grace
Amidst the middens and the moors
the dusty paths
leading to the church yard
by several aeons paved
A hamlet gripped by crippling fear
plagued by incessant howls
carried on the winds
along corpse roads
Perched unwaveringly upon the lych gate
the presence emitting a pale blue light from transparent eyes
Shape of luminescence, harbinger of loss
a solemn reminder of the transience of life
The ghosts gather at the roads
with arms outstretched
craving company
A hamlet gripped by crippling fear
plagued by incessant howls
carried on the winds
along corpse roads
Scouring the shores where I once walked
where once I breathed the salt air
where warcries were sung and the gallows once swung
and the violence is said to remain
Following the trail where floating candles drift on the breeze
whispered voices soothe the weary soldiers’ minds; “go to sleep”
A hamlet gripped by crippling fear
plagued by incessant howls
carried on the winds
along corpse roads

Glittering Depths
06:16
|

Decadent dreams of opulence
mounts of treasure the stars to outshine
encased within the earth’s walls
A man has a claim to riches
that fall within his grasp
delve in the depths of the earth
the veins of the planet
Ignore the warnings of the crows across the gate
the slow descent into the realm of treasures
Drawn towards the knocking sounds
the richest veins to find
resounding through the corridors
the timpani to your swansong
Hear the shrill sound of the horn
bouncing off the damp walls
as menacing eyes alight in the shade
the creaking sound of the ropes
as the prizes come into sight
the silver gleam on the scissors’ blade
the lifeline is cut
A man has a claim to riches
that fall within his grasp
delve in the depths of the earth
the veins of the planet
The sun illuminates a final tableau
displayed at the gates on the surface
destitute as any man leaves this earth
